Governor Mead signs Bills Moving Wyoming Schools Forward
CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Matt Mead signed four bills this week all moving the state toward improving student achievement and making schools more accountable.
The bills signed are SF 70 “Wyoming Accountability in Education Act,” SF 146 “Teacher Accountability Act,” HB 13 “Hathaway Success Curriculum” and HB 127 “School Finance Recalibration.” Governor Mead signed the “Teacher Accountability Act” in Laramie at the University of Wyoming on Monday night.
Governor Mead said all these measures are valuable for the State. “Education is going to continue to be, for me and hopefully for future Governors, one of the critical issues for Wyoming and for the country. I really believe the legislature went through a lot of hard work, a lot of hard debate and at the end of the session I think we have really come a long way on education. We still have more to do, but I was very pleased with the work on education.”
