CHEYENNE, Wyo. Governor Mead said of Mick McMurry this morning:

“Mick McMurry touched so many lives and succeeded in so many ways as a devoted family man, a businessman, a philanthropist. After graduating from UW and serving in Vietnam, Mick returned home to Casper and, year after year, did one extraordinary thing after another. Whatever he was involved in whether it was building a construction business, forming energy businesses, or contributing to community causes through the McMurry Foundation he gave his all and that was giving a lot. He was wholeheartedly committed to his family, community, state and country. He often said to me, I just want to build a better Wyoming, and those words will stay with me forever. Mick did in fact build a better Wyoming. Carol and I were deeply saddened to hear of his passing. There’s no one like Mick – he was Wyoming through and through. We grieve for him and will miss him greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with Susie and the entire McMurry family,” Governor Mead said.
