Governor Mead released the following statement in response to UW President Dick McGinity’s decision to step down when his contract expires in 2016:

“Dick McGinity has performed extraordinary service on behalf of the University and the citizens of Wyoming. He took on the job as President at a time when leadership and a steady hand were critical to the success and growth of UW. UW has prospered under Dick McGinity. I am grateful for his selfless contributions to UW. He exemplifies the very best of public service.

I am confident the Board of Trustees will initiate a search process that will be inclusive of the public and the University. The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees is established by the Wyoming Constitution. This is one of the most important roles of the Board.”
