CHEYENNE, Wyo. – The second annual Governor’s Match action shooting competition was held August 4-5, 2018 at the Otto Road Shooting Range in Cheyenne. The event saw excellent participation and was viewed as a great success. The competition was sponsored by Magpul Industries and Vortex Optics and featured some of America’s best shooters competing in multi-gun events. Governor Mead attended the final day of the competition and signed a proclamation declaring August 5th as “Wyoming’s Day at the Range.”

“As a proud firearms state, shooting sports are an important part of Wyoming’s heritage and economy,” said Governor Mead. “I was happy with the number of people who participated and glad to see they enjoyed being in Wyoming competing in a sport they love. I thank all of the participants, partners, sponsors and spectators who made this event run smoothly and safely.”

The Magpul Governor’s Match presented by Vortex included 270 participants from all over the world and included 35 of the world’s top 50 marksmen. The match also had the highest concentration of shooting talent of any competition west of the Mississippi so far this year.

The presenting sponsor, Vortex Optics will be hosting a 50 team competition August 10-11, 2018 at the Wagon Hound Ranch in Douglas, Wyoming. For more information on the Vortex Extreme,
